Another favorite spot
I’m going to receive a reputation for starting blog “series” and then quitting after one or two posts. So… I’m going to make sure my favorite spots series continues STRONG!
I was thinking today about a spot that exudes relaxation, peace and focus for me. A spot that I can find in any city, in just about any park and it’s usually only a walk or a drive away.
A basketball court.
From the time I was in 5th grade, this spot has had a place in my heart. Even in my high stressed filled days of 5th grade 
I remember going out by myself and shooting hoops.
There’s something about hearing a basketball bounce that does something inside of me. I could stand on a free throw line and shoot for hours on end, trying to get a perfect 25 out of 25. It just calms me.
In middle school, high school, college and even today (even though not as often as I’d like) I can go to a basketball court with the weight of the world on my shoulders and return with a smile on my face and a brand new perspective.
There’s a certain focus and determination coupled with a freedom to run and sweat that makes basketball such a freeing pastime for me.
I think this blog post has even inspired me to make it a point to go out once a week on my own and just shoot some hoops. I’ll see you on the courts!
